The only Clive Barker adaptation to feature a score by Philip Glass, CANDYMAN's remarkable craft, as well as its odd mixture of baroque horror and academic camp, set it apart from the vast majority American horror cinema in the early 90s, an oasis of style and confrontational imagery amidst hoards of late franchise entries. While researching the connection between a series of murders around the Cabrini-Green housing project and a local myth involving the vengeful spirit of a brutally murdered African-American painter (played with terrifying and tragic grandeur by an impossibly sexy Tony Todd), Chicago graduate student Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) inadvertently awakens the spirit of Todd's Candyman and sets off a cycle of stomach-churning and beautifully art directed violence. 25 years on, CANDYMAN remains one of the great horror films of its era, as well as essential time capsule of Chicago in the late 20th Century.

Director Wes Anderson brings his inimitable style to the world of stop-motion animation. Based on the book by Roald Dahl, a brilliantly clever fox (George Clooney) aims to provide for his family by taking on the meanest farmers you'll ever know. Giving in to his animal instincts endangers not only his marriage but also the lives of his wife (Meryl Streep) family and their animal friends. When the farmers force Mr. Fox deep underground, he has to resort to his natural craftiness to rise above the opposition.

Many critics consider THE GENERAL to be the last great comedy of the silent era, and it consistently ranks as one of the greatest films of all time on international critics' polls.

Set during the Civil War and based on a true incident, the film is also an authentic-looking period piece that brings the scope and realism of Matthew Brady-like images to brilliant life. Keaton portrays engineer Johnnie Gray, rejected by the Confederate Army and thought a coward by his girlfriend (Marion Mack). When a band of Union soldiers penetrate Confederate lines to steal his locomotive, Johnnie Gray sets off in pursuit. Seven of the film's eight reels are devoted to the chase, featuring hilarious comedy and amazing stunts performed by Keaton himself.
