This cynical sex farce about two globetrotting sailors (McLaglen and Armstrong) who fight over a woman (Brooks) and then become best friends was described by Hawks as “a love story between two men.” The film is notable for bringing cult screen icon-to-be Louise Brooks to the attention of director G.W. Pabst for his upcoming Pandora’s Box.
