Pitchfork and the Music Box showcase some of our most beloved music films, presented with extraordinary guests in conversation with Pitchfork editors. The Pitchfork Music Film Series is presented in partnership with White Claw. 

All attendees aged 12 and older attending the Pitchfork Music Film Series will need to be fully inoculated against COVID-19, or have proof of a negative PCR test within the past 24 hours of the screening they are attending. Masks are recommended.

20 FEET FROM STARDOM with Special Guests Jamila Woods | Monday, September 6th at 7pm - $15

Meet the unsung heroes behind the greatest songs of our time. Award-winning director Morgan Neville shines a spotlight on the untold true story of the backup singers behind some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st century. 

20 FEET FROM STARDOM was selected by singer, poet and songwriter Jamila Woods as one of her favorite films. Ahead of the screening Jamila will be in conversation with celebrated journalist and Pitchfork contributor Adrienne Samuel Gibbs to discuss the film, Jamila’s career and the intersection of the muses featured in the film and how it informs Jamila’s art.

I AM TRYING TO BREAK YOUR HEART with Special Guest Glenn Kotche | Tuesday, September 7th at 7pm - $15

Sam Jones' insightful documentary chronicles the tumultuous recording and release of Wilco's 2002 album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, which became an instant classic despite being rejected by its initial label.

After the screening of I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, longtime Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche will be joined by Pitchfork Features Editor Jillian Mapes for a conversation about the film, Glenn’s vantage on the band during that era, and where his and Wilco’s paths have continued.

JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS with Special Guests Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont | Wednesday, September 8th at 7pm - $20

Josie, Melody and Val are three small-town musicians determined to take their rock band out of their garage and straight to the top. Fate gives them the chance to do so, but can they remain true to their look, style and sound?

Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of “Josie and the Pussycats” co-director and writers Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont will be in conversation with Pitchfork Staff Writer Quinn Moreland to discuss the film’s music, legacy and impact on today’s culture.
