In ANSELM, Wim Wenders creates a portrait of Anselm Kiefer, one of the most innovative and important painters and sculptors of our time. Shot in 3D and 6K-resolution, the film presents a cinematic experience of the artist’s work which explores human existence and the cyclical nature of history, inspired by literature, poetry, philosophy, science, mythology and religion. For over two years, Wenders traced Kiefer’s path from his native Germany to his current home in France, connecting the stages of his life to the essential places of his career that spans more than five decades.

The Music Box is installing a brand new Digital 3D system for our exclusive 3D engagement of ANSELM. Manufactured by XpanD, this is the brightest and most vibrant 3D system currently available for cinemas, using active glasses to produce superior 3D image quality without the compromises of low-contrast silver screens. Look forward to more 3D presentations later this year, including a festival of rarely screened 3D classics new and old!

The 3D glasses used for this screening are extremely high quality and very fragile. They must be handled with great care. Please do not bend, fold, or attempt to adjust the glasses in any way. Please do not touch the lenses.

A Music Box Staff Member will collect the glasses after the screening as you exit the auditorium. Glasses MUST be returned!
