This is Spinal Tap for ‘90s rap music, this hilarious mockumentary was directed by, written by, and stars Rusty Cundieff, who would go on to make the Tales From the Hood films and write for Chappelle’s Show. Actress and director (Eve’s Bayou, Harriet) Kasi Lemmons plays our straight-faced guide to a ridiculous world, a young journalist making a documentary about the contemporary hip hop scene, with a focus on the legendary group NWH ("Niggaz With Hats”). Absolutely no one is safe from being skewered in this–the rappers, their managers, their white fans, even a preacher. Featuring appearances by characters with very close resemblances to the likes of MC Hammer, Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa, Kriss Kross, and Spike Lee, just to name a few.
