Opening Night Tribute to the late, great James Caan!
James Caan delivers the most villainous performance of his career in this unjustly neglected noir thriller. Dennis Quaid plays Arlis Sweeney, an itinerant vending machine owner in West Texas who finally finds love with Kay Davies (Meg Ryan)—only to realize she’s connected to a horrific crime committed by his father thirty years earlier. Writer-director Kloves (The Fabulous Baker Boys) crafted a searing family drama from classic film noir elements, namely Do we ever escape the sins of our fathers? Featuring early performances by Gwyneth Paltrow and John Hawkes, and veteran Scott (In Cold Blood) Wilson.
