Yuppie ad exec David (Albert Brooks) and his shopping mall manager wife Linda (Julie Hagerty) rode the inflation train to material success, but find their lives hollow. Longing to recapture the youthful dropout vibes of Easy Rider, David and Linda liquidate their assets to explore America in a Winnebago RV—just like Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper would've done had they crafted their generational touchstone in the self-sufficient Reagan era. Forced to confront the suppressed strains in their marriage and the hard-won lesson that Las Vegas has a deficit of Christmas spirit, the couple sets off on the open road in search of a new life. Who knew to look for the American Dream at Der Wienerschnitzel?  A scabrous comedy where half the jokes are built around the absurd sight of a jumbo Winnebago standing in for the covered wagons of old, Lost in America remains one of Brooks's most beloved creations and a veritable fountain of acidic one-liners.

Musician/Comedy person Jon Wurster has been the drummer for many of alternative rock’s biggest names: Bob Mould, The Mountain Goats, Superchunk, and Robert Pollard, to name just a few. Wurster has also been making people laugh for the past twenty years, calling into The Best Show with Tom Scharpling as a parade of ridiculous, often frightening characters.

Wurster credits the first three Albert Brooks films as shaping him as both a comedy writer and as a human being.
