A Part of Music Box of Horrors 2025
Director John McNaughton in attendance for a post-film Q&A
From the creative mind of director John McNaughton (Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer) comes an eerie tale of an alien killer sentenced to live the rest of his days on Earth for committing unspeakable crimes. Upon arrival, this strange insect-like creature's skull explodes, revealing his need for constant replacement heads to survive. Thus begins a spree of spine-snapping murders that even the city’s toughest detectives Diana Pierce (Rae Dawn Chong) and Charles Kreiger (Don Gordon) can't solve. Anchored by a hysterical and oddly impactful performance from Antonio Fargas (not to mention a brief, but wonderful cameo from Mädchen Amick), The Borrower is a still-too-slept-on true oddity packed with memorable gross-out effects work that goes so far to even involved a memorable canine getting in on the fun.
