One of the more delightful treats we are able to present as part of this retrospective, is a personally-curated collection highlighting the standout work Zemeckis completed within the smaller, fuzzy worlds just outside the movie screen. With a handful of delectable outings, one riffing on his own BACK TO THE FUTURE, and one serving up a masterclass in contained, seasonal horror, we celebrate Zemeckis' work in whatever form he chooses to deliver it in. We will also be featuring both of the student films he made while attending USC film school: one entitled THE LIFT, showing more than a glimpse of the future director he would become, and A FIELD OF HONOR, the dazzling short he burst unannounced into Steven Speilberg’s office with, which in turn got him his first directing job. More than just starters, one-offs, or experimentations, these collected works help provide an essential chapter in the legacy of Mr. Zemeckis and his films.
