Nurse Mandy (Angela Bettis) is desperate to make it through her double shift without incident. This is particularly hard to do when you’re an addict and are also involved in a black market organ-trading scheme. When her hapless but dangerous cousin Regina (Chloe Farnworth) messes up a kidney delivery, chaos descends on the Arkansas hospital as Mandy and Regina frantically try to secure a replacement organ through any means necessary. Things grow increasingly complicated when injured convict Jefferson (David Arquette) is brought in, and events spiral even further out of control. Wrestling legend Mick Foley shines in a strong supporting turn.
Equally intense and zany, with deft directing from Brea Grant, 12 HOUR SHIFT is a blood-soaked, madcap ride.
“Grant has crafted an acerbic screwball crime caper that has its razor-sharp tongue planted firmly in its cheek, and I absolutely adored every single madcap minute of it.” — Daily Dead “The material is edgy and at times outrageously gory and chaotic, but Bettis gives Mandy an exhausted, fed-up quality that keeps the movie on track, even (or maybe especially) when she’s pissed off about having to do everything herself.” — AV ClubNow Showing
