Art House Theater Day celebrates the art house theater and the cultural role it plays in a community. It is a day to recognize the year-round contributions of films and filmmakers, patrons, projectionists and staff, and the brick and mortar theaters that are passionately dedicated to providing access to the best cinematic experiences. The Music Box is proud to be a part of this year’s Art House Theater Day, mixing special nationwide screenings with Music Box exclusives.

The Music Box celebrates Art Hour Theater Day with a new 2K Restoration of Terry Gilliam’s Time Bandits, a Free Screening of A Man Called Ove for Music Box Members (CLICK HERE to sign up for a Music Box Membership), and a digital restoration of Phantasm, presented by Fantastic Fest & Alamo Drafthouse.

Other Music Box programing on Art House Theater Day includes: Classic Matinee series showing It Happened One Night (1934); our week-long run of Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years (2016), and a Midnight presentation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with live Shadow Cast.
