HOT DOG… THE MOVIE slalomed into theaters at the post-PORKY’S peak of 1980s youth comedies, hitting the slopes for a nonstop party on the powder. The genre’s gold medal formula of bare bodies, beer bashes, and outcasts toppling their tormentors translated supremely well to HOT DOG’s snow banks, lodge bars, and (oh, yes!) outdoor hot tubs. David Naughton (AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON) leads a funky-punky crew of mountainside dive-bombers out to beat a cabal of ice-blooded Austrian ski bullies. Shannon Tweed—smack between her Playmate of the Year centerfold and life-partnering with KISS demon Gene Simmons—supplies that exact right amount of carnal intrigue to the winter carnival.
Music Box Theatre screens films of all genres and from every era of cinema, both new releases and repertory. These films may sometimes contain upsetting, outdated, or offensive material. While we aim to introduce many of our screenings, we do not always provide warnings about potentially triggering content within the films we screen. We encourage our patrons to research the film before they attend using trailers, reviews, or content information found on Common Sense Media, IMDb and DoesTheDogDie.com.
