Tamon (50), a second-generation Rakugo performer, avoids traditional stories to escape comparison with his famous father and master, Kanzo (75). Instead, he performs original material, but it fails to connect with audiences. Struggling financially, he works part-time to make ends meet while caring for Kanzo—now retired due to dementia—whom he lives with. One day, Kiko (28), an aspiring stand-up comedian, hears a story at Tamon’s show that her mother, Yoko (50), once loved. Inspired, she uses it in her act, setting off a chain of events that changes all their lives.
