TRAIN STATION is a universal story of fate, decisions and destiny. It follows a single character, known only as “The Person in Brown”, played by 40 different actors ranging in age, gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation. Along his/her journey, he/she is presented with a series of choices: some small, some life altering. Every time a choice is made, the film switches to a new cast, a new city, and the same story continues, helmed by a new director. Cities include Berlin, Bogota, Chicago, Dubai, Detroit, Jakarta, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tehran and 18 other cities in five continents. What begins as a simple story about a person missing a train and living the various possible outcomes, TRAIN STATION unites cultures and breaks language barriers while reminding us that we all live in one world full of diversity, choices, and consequences.
TRAIN STATION was filmed collaboratively with 40 directors in five continents over the course of five years between 2011 and 2016. The directors conceptualized, wrote, and directed each segment while working together via the Internet, never meeting in person. Through a multitude of directorial perspectives, the end result is a story that celebrates the universal language of film.
